The Role Editor

When you click on a role it opens the role editor. Here is where you can adjust several things about your role. Let's go over the UI and settings.

Your Model (Required)

This is where you choose the AI model (LLM) you want to use in this role. Here's our guide to help you choose models.

Instructions

This is where you give the AI instructions for how it should behave/react to your prompts.

AI Controls

This is where you can control common AI settings such as temperature, top-P, max length, etc. Here is our guide to help understand these settings.

Role Settings Area

Role Name

The field where you can set the name of your role. This name will appear in other places when you need to select a role.

Role Tags

These are tags you can apply to your role to help organize them. The filter at the top of the Roles panel can "see" these tags so you can filter by them.

To add tags, enter the text you want as the tag and then hit enter.

If you forget to hit enter the tag will not be saved.

Role Workspaces

If you want to assign your role to specific workspaces, select the workspaces here.

Then at the top of the Roles panel you can click the workspace filter button. This filters just to the roles assigned to the current workspace you're working in.

If you're in the content lab, the workspace filter does not show.
