Instructions

This is where you give the AI instructions for how it should behave/react to your prompts. Here's our guide to help understand instructions in more detail.

Instructions are there you can define how the AI should act/perform your prompts. Common things might include the "role" of the AI, the type of task it will be performing, the style/tone of the text, etc.

You get to define all this here.

Example Instructions

You are an expert blogger adept at creating engaging content. Your task is to assist a writer to create interesting and informative blog posts.

Write in an informal and casual manner as if speaking directly to the reader. Avoid typical cliches but use effective analogy sparingly.

Use British English spellings and mannerisms.

Format headings and bold/italics using Markdown.

In this example we tell the AI who it is and the task it will perform. We go on to guide how it should write to include style, tone, language, and formatting.

Unlimited Potential

By no means do you have to follow this exactly. You can use any instructions you desire. Perhaps you want to give examples of what your writing style is or you would rather leave it completely blank.

Experiment, explore... find what works best for your needs, bounce ideas around with the role composer too.

Variables

You can use variables in your instructions too. These could be the standard document variables, or even memory or global variables you define.

Anywhere you see a word wrapped in double curly braces {{}} it will be replaced by the contents of the variable when you use it in a tool.
